2026 Annual Tree and Shrub Sale


​Proceeds from this program are used to support conservation activities here in St. Lawrence County.

All trees & shrubs sold are to be used for effective conservation practices such as reforestation, windbreaks, erosion control, wildlife habitat, etc. and will not be planted solely for ornamental purposes.  Trees and shrubs sold will not be removed with roots attached for resale. This is in compliance with the New York State Sales and Use Tax Regulations, 20 NYCRR, Section 529.2 (c).

The District is not responsible for seedlings that are not picked up on the scheduled day.  Buyers will be notified by email and text in advance to confirm pick up date. Tentative dates (dependent on ground frost) are April 9th and 10th, 2026.  Pick up will be at the ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY CORNELL COOPERATIVE EXTENSION OFFICE:  2043b State Highway 68, Canton, NY. Please do not call the CCE office with questions, please call us at 315-386-3582.

Due to circumstances beyond our control such as delayed shipping, poor handling before planting, drought, or fertilizer & herbicide damage, we do not guarantee survival but we will do everything possible to provide you with high quality planting stock.

The District reserves the right to refund payments on certain species that may be unavailable.  Please check your order at pickup.  No refunds available after pick up. Prices include all shipping, handling, and taxes.

Description: An evergreen with scalelike, flat foliage. The bark is thin and gray to a reddish-brown, often shredding into strips. Prefers consistently moist, well drained soil. Often used for its light lumber in fence posts or as hedges and windbreaks due to its dense, heavy foliage.

Very disease and insect resistant.

Description: One of the most important and valuable trees. Young bark is gray-brown, later becoming reddish-brown with irregular fissures. Cones are easily identified by the three-pointed bracts which are longer than cone scales. The needles are flattened, slightly pointed, and grow around the branch to give it a full rounded appearance.

Important food source for wildlife. Leaves are 4-7” long, with rounded, finger-like lobes. Lumber is valuable and its barrels are known for aging bourbons and whiskies.

Has dense, fine textured branches with smooth gray bark. Leaves are 1.5”- 3” long. Emerging leaves are purplish/bronze and turn orange to deep red in the fall.
